Commercial Burglary Series Hits Riverside
Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police and other agencies are seeking the public’s help is solving a
series of apparently connected commercial burglaries.
On August 22, 2006, a commercial burglary occurred at RSC
Equipment Rental at 520 E. La Cadena Dr. in Riverside. On August 29, another similar burglary occurred at
Hertz Equipment Rental at 929 W. La Cadena Dr., also in Riverside. The August 29 Hertz burglary was
captured on the store’s video surveillance system. The two burglaries appear to be related, given the
specifics of the crime.
Similar burglaries have occurred in other jurisdictions
as well, including one on August 17, 2006, in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino County near Fontana
and one August 24 in Irvine. These incidents may be possibly linked to burglaries in Hesperia,
Bakersfield, Fresno, the Foothill Ranch area of Orange County, and Las Vegas, NV. Each store location
suffered a significant loss in these burglaries.
Employees and managers of these types of businesses should
secure their business and report any suspicious activity to their local police department.
A privately-funded reward is being offered in this case for
information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
The public is asked to call Riverside Police Department
Detective Kevin Townsend at (951) 826-5225 with any information about this series of burglaries.
