Riverside, Ca- On Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at approximately 12:38pm, officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the 1400 block of University Ave. reference a report of a woman placing an infant in a trash dumpster. Upon arrival, witnesses directed the officer’s to the woman’s location.
Officers arrested Robin Christine Landesman of Riverside, white female, 37 years, for Felony Child Endangerment (273(a) P.C.). According to witness statements given to the investigating officers, Landesman placed the infant, who was still strapped in an infant carrier, into a trash dumpster. She walked approximately 6-10 feet away from the dumpster, then walked back to the dumpster and pulled the infant out once she realized she was being watched by citizens. Witnesses then flagged down the officers as they arrived on scene and directed them to Landesman’s location.
Landesman was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. The four-month-old child did not appear to have any injuries and was turned over to Child Protective Services (C.P.S.) for temporary protective custody.
