Public Safety Officer of the Month - September 2002

Riverside, Ca-  On Thursday, October 24, 2002, at approximately 6:44 P.M., officers from the Riverside Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on Indiana & Madison for a vehicle code violation.  The driver failed to stop and entered Highway 91 at Madison.  The driver then led officers on a pursuit that lasted approximately 20 minutes, ending at an apartment complex in the City of Redlands.  The driver was taken into custody and found to be a parolee at large.

The driver was identified as Raul Ramirez, Hispanic male, 32-years-old, of Redlands.  He was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for a parolee at large warrant and evading police officers in a motor vehicle.
